The Plot:
Born under mysterious circumstances and raised in an orphanage and abusive workhouse, ten-year-old Oliver escapes and falls in with Fagin’s gang of pickpockets and Bill Sykes, one of London’s most vicious criminals. More and more dangers confront him as he tries to survive in London and make his way in the world with the help of Nancy, a street girl, and the kindness of strangers. Who was his mother? What strange hand is guiding his life? Will he be caught by the law, by Fagin’s gang or turn out all right in the end?
